Yes you certainly can, but nothing over a 12 seater will be allowed into the campgrounds. It will have to be parked in the carpark just outside camping.

Where do I camp?
We have plenty of room for campers and it is set into blocks. You can park your cars around these blocks.  You must keep access roads clear at all times or your car will be towed. The campground has some shaded areas but first in best dressed and there is quiet camping towards the back of the camp grounds which will be suitable for families or patrons wanting to get away from the noise.

Yes you can but this must be parked around the camping block provided. once it is parked it must stay parked until you leave the event.

Can I bring Children and is it an over 18s event?
Yes and Yes. It is an over 18s event and ID will be checked on the gate. In saying this we love to see families come and join us children under the age of 12 are welcome accompanied by their parents, see the bringing children form for details.

Can I hire accommodation?
Camping is included in the cost of your ticket, but there are a few caravan parks and motels in the area if you do not wish to camp. You must leave your car in the short term parking area if not camping at the event.

Can you swim onsite?
There is no swimming on site. We do allow pass outs between 11:00am and 4:00pm and there are some beautiful spots by the river where you can go and cool off and have a wash. The river is very fast flowing with a strong current so it is important that you ask the crew or look on the map for safe places to go.

Can I bring my own generator?
No, generators are strictly forbidden! No renegade soundsystems either. Please be respectful of your neighbours.

What do I bring?
See page what to bring

This is a camping event. Bring all the items that will help make your camp comfortable. We recommend that you bring poles, tarps and other infrastructure to create a shaded campsite. There are few trees in the camping area so creating your own shade is an important consideration.

Prepare for all sorts of weather. It can be very hot during the day and very cold at night. There is also the chance for rain, and the potential for wind. Make sure everything in your campsite is tied down as strong winds can hit without notice and cause havoc for any ill-secured campsite.

Free water is available on site but it is recommended that you bring your own supply. There will be plenty of yummy food available for purchase in the market area. It can also be quite noisy among the campsites, so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

Bring decor, couches and things that make the place pretty and comfortable, just whatever comes with you, leaves with you.

Can I bring my own alcohol?
Tanglewood Festival is a BYO event.  We do not condone the use of illicit drugs or the over consumption of alcohol.  We do encourage you to hold off buying supplies until you get into the local townships of Thornton, Alexandra or Eildon. Keep in mind, glass is strictly forbidden and will be confiscated on entry.

What can’t I bring?
There is a total fire ban operating during the event. Candles, BBQs, gas stoves or fires are not permitted at the event.

  • No weapons
  • No campfires
  • No glass
  • No amplified sound systems
  • No cooking using an open flame

Can I bring pets?

Is there phone reception?

Is there an ATM?
There will be limited cash out at the info tent and some select vendors so it is best that you get enough cash out to last you the whole time.
